Lee started Beauty in the Dissonance to ease her anxious mind. After countless Google searches on Bipolar II Disorder, she began to feel hopeless. When her symptoms seemed to continue on a downward spiral, she sought comfort in sharing her experiences. She wanted others to know what living with Bipolar II Disorder was like, and while frustrating, it was not nearly as terrifying as those Google results made it seem.
To date, Lee has been diagnosed with rapid-cycling Bipolar II Disorder, ADHD, anxiety, OCD, SAD, and PTSD. Despite these diagnoses, she is a full-time corporate employee with a Master of Science in Management.
Lee believes the key to thriving with a mental illness is through honesty and transparency. In every doctor visit or therapist session, she tells it as it is, no matter how ugly. This has been the missing puzzle piece that stunted her ability to not just survive but to thrive.
Now, through her trials and tribulations, she hopes her journey will inspire, give laughter, and provide solace. But most importantly, she hopes to be the light at the end of your tunnel.
There is beauty in the dissonance, and she hopes to help you find it, too.
